As we got off the bus it became immediately apparent how crowded it was going to be before even walking across the street. The square was alive with people—some perched on ledges with a drink in hand, others sprawled out on steps, but all of us were drawn to the same breathtaking view. 

As I began to admire the rays of sunlight bathing Florence in its warm glow, I noticed an older man playing a cherry red electric guitar through the chatter. It was at that moment, while looking at the city I felt a sense of peace amongst the chaos.
