This was our only day in Venice and we were concerned about the weather, so when we got off the train and saw that it wasn’t raining we headed off to find a gondola.

Silence filled the air as we floated down each small canal occasionally passing other boats and people shuffling along the canals. While we strode past yet another gondola, I turned to my left to snap a shot of a sparkling statue that was positioned at the front of the passing gondola. As I took a closer look, I realized it was the Roman God Mercury running to share a message.
